What does the fourth day actually buy?
On a 3D2N you board in the afternoon and disembark in the morning, so you have two full days on the water. On a 4D3N you have three. That single extra day is what lets the captain separate the north and south of the archipelago instead of stitching them together.

The day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 — Embarkation and the near islands
Board at Labuan Bajo harbour late morning or early afternoon after your flight lands. Safety brief, cabins, lunch under way. The afternoon runs to Kelor Island for the short summit walk or Sebayur for the first snorkel — easy water, shallow reef, a gentle introduction. Sunset at anchor with dinner cooked aboard. If your flight is a late one, this day compresses to a single stop; if it is an early one, the crew adds Menjerite or Bidadari.
Day 2 — Padar, Pink Beach and the dragons
Pre-dawn start for the Padar viewpoint, roughly twenty to thirty minutes of stepped climbing to the ridge above the three bays. Back aboard for breakfast, then Pink Beach for a swim and a snorkel straight off the sand. Midday passage to Komodo Island or Rinca for the ranger-led trek. Afternoon snorkel at Siaba or Mawan, then a quiet anchorage.
Day 3 — Mantas and the north
Early run to Manta Point at Karang Makassar to hit the tide window; the reef is a cleaning station, and whether the mantas are there depends on current, plankton and luck. Then north to Gili Lawa for the hill walk and the best swimming water in the park, with dive-capable guests dropping on Batu Bolong, Tatawa or Crystal Rock depending on conditions and certification. Late afternoon at the Kalong bat colony, where thousands of flying foxes lift off the mangroves at dusk. This is the day people photograph most.
Day 4 — Last water, then Labuan Bajo
A final snorkel at Kanawa or Siaba, breakfast under way, and alongside in Labuan Bajo mid-morning. Transfers to the airport or into town.
Weather alternates
Komodo has two moods. In the drier months, roughly April to November, the north sites are the priority and the itinerary runs as written. In the north-west monsoon months of about December to March, wind and swell push itineraries to the south of the park, which brings plankton, cooler water and often outstanding manta activity — at the cost of rougher crossings and lower visibility. A captain who reroutes south in January is not cutting corners; they are doing the right thing.

Bands reflect the 2026 Labuan Bajo market and are indicative, not quotations. For a sense of the top of the market: Silolona, a 50-metre phinisi built in 2004 by Konjo boat builders in Sulawesi, carries ten guests in five suites with seventeen crew and lists at approximately USD 130,900 per week.
Normally included: the vessel, captain and crew, chef, all meals and soft drinks, snorkelling equipment, tenders, fuel for the agreed itinerary, and on all-inclusive tiers the Komodo National Park fees. Normally excluded: alcohol and premium drinks, dive packages and nitrox, airport transfers, park fees on budget tiers, and crew gratuity.
The park fee line: approximately IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day for the entrance ticket, IDR 50,000 weekday or IDR 75,000 weekend and holiday for Indonesian nationals, plus an operator-collected conservation component of around IDR 100,000 and a harbour fee of around IDR 25,000 per person per day. Booking window and 2027 dates
The peak Komodo weeks — July, August and the Christmas/New Year fortnight — sell first, and the better boats are gone six to nine months out. April–May and October–November are the smart weeks: calm shoulder seas, softer pricing, fewer boats at Padar. For 2027 travel, we advise locking July and August dates during the first half of 2026.

April to November is the practical main season. December to March still runs, with southern itineraries, cooler plankton-rich water, strong manta activity and rougher crossings.
Can non-divers and divers share the same charter?
Yes, and it is common. The boat anchors, divers go down with the guide, snorkellers work the shallows from the tender, and everyone eats lunch together.
How many people fit on a 4D3N charter?
Sleeping capacity is the constraint: typically three to eight cabins and six to twenty guests, with crew of eight to eighteen. Give us your headcount and cabin split first — it narrows the fleet immediately.
Are flights included?
No. Komodo Airport (LBJ) is roughly one hour to one hour fifteen from Bali and two hours fifteen to two hours thirty from Jakarta. Arrive the day before embarkation; do not fly in on the morning of Day 1.
What if the weather cancels a site?
The captain substitutes. Padar, Pink Beach and the ranger trek have alternates in both the north and the south, and rerouting is part of running a safe boat.
How far ahead should we book?
Six to nine months for peak weeks, two to four months for shoulder season, and last-minute is genuinely possible in the quiet months.
